Description
108,000 sf, three-story, steel frame and masonry construction, CPS prototype design, to serve 900 students from Pre-K through 8th grade. The schools sits at the South East corner of Riis Park. Uniquely, the school will be connected to the existing park district building, providing programs after school hours. In addition to general classrooms, the building is comprised of administrative offices, multi-use rooms, dining, library, gymnasium and a state-of-the-art state & rigging system for assemblies, plays and after school activities. There are specialty classrooms that focus on early education, STEM, science, art, music, choir and special education. The 2nd floor offers a spacious and naturally lit library space with day-lighting controls, custom built-in seating and quiet reading spaces.
