Description

Sollitt was hired to perform extensive renovation of the existing seven story and two story buildings and construct a new two-story, 6,000 square foot link between the existing structures. The existing structures were completely gutted and new HVAC, electrical, and fire protection systems were installed. Extensive underpinning and bracing of the existing building foundations was required to allow drilling of caissons for the new link. The structural frame of the seven-story building was cut and retrofitted to create a new central stairway from the first to the sixth floors. The building envelope was upgraded with new doors and windows, a new storefront, tuckpointing, and roofing. The interior features a high level of finishes with terrazzo floors and ground-face CMU partitions throughout. The sitework includes new parking lots, sidewalks and a new landscaped courtyard.
